據田納西媒體《WREG》報道，麥康蒙通過課堂結識青少年，與其一起玩電子遊戲、在社交平台關注他們並結交學生母親，以實施威權。
一名12歲男學生於2021年被麥康蒙性侵。她撥打200多通電話給他，還通過社交平台Snapchat傳送露骨照片。女老師還傳訊息威脅男生不準斷絕關係，否則她“就自殺”。
2023年有家長舉報其對學生發不當簡訊，8月24日她被學校停職，9月8日因性犯罪被捕；但期間保釋出獄又和受害者聯繫，重回監獄。
本就育有2個孩子的麥康蒙告訴12歲男生，自己懷上他的孩子，並準備將其生下。據報DNA檢測證實這一說法。法官把新生兒撫養權判給受害男生母親，女教師將不得與出生後的嬰兒接觸，並且不得假釋、吊銷教師執照、登記為性暴力罪犯。
男生母親表示，麥康蒙“會在地獄裏被焚燒”。
