美國伊利諾伊州西北大學醫學院助教、外科醫生卡拉·皮尤提出了一個新鮮的解決辦法，即將部分人造解剖模型與電腦模型相結合，通過虛擬程序與現實模型的雙重教學，讓學生們在實驗課上輕鬆學習如何檢查“病人”生殖器、乳房及直腸等器官。目前，皮尤擁有此項技術的專利。
