He's Just NOT That Into You

He’s just not that into you.

Just finished the book “He’s just not that into you”, which is like a bible for guiding girls’ dating. The author is Greg, who was involved in the book (and maybe the movie too) “Sex and the City”. In “He’s just not that into you”, the author again analyzed men and women, especially demonstrating what men think when dating a girl whom he is not that into in a humorous style. The book applied a question-answer format. Maybe every girl can find herself and men she dated in the book.

Since the main goal of the book is to teach girls to distinguish men who are really into her from those who are not, readers can see men with all sorts of personality, characteristics, eccentricity, habits, etc., which is the funniest part as far as I learned. The girls seem much more accommodating with the central thoughts of adjusting herself to fit men’s demand. In real world, however, both men and women can be resilient and inflexible. But the main point in the book (and I agree) is to find the one who matches you most and makes you happy most. Match is such a magic word. One can only feel it rather than identifying it by setting up and measuring based upon criteria.  Unfortunately, sometimes people, especially girls, are obsessed. That’s why Greg tried hard to wake up those girls by illustrating all sorts of men in this book.

It is definitely an interesting book. And the stories, I believe, do happen in reality. People deal with them by applying different strategies. I am not sure what described in the book is rules girls should follow (though the book does call rules). But one thing I am certain is people are looking for happiness. If one of the parties is not into the other, what is the purpose for them to be together any longer? Isn’t it a kind of torture? Things are definitely not as simple as expected. Isn’t it what we should try our best to figure out simplicity out of complication?

As a matter of fact, being happy with each other is not only applicable for romantic relationship. Happiness, if not joy, should be the fundamental pursuit in our daily life. Therefore, go find those who can make you laugh rather than who will bring you burden or even sorrow. You deserve happiness!
