A gory horror Halloween story
John and Ann were best friends in school. They decided to go for trick or treat together on Halloween night.
John went out of his house and walked toward Ann’s home. There was about 1000 feet between their houses. The road was very quiet. John was curious as to why there were few kids out for trick or treating. “I am so early,” John thought, “Ann and I will be the first team to play the game. We will get a lot of candy this year.” He was thinking while he was walking faster. However, after he walked for about 400 feet, he felt the atmosphere was changing. The lights along the road were less and less and dimmer and dimmer. Finally the road was totally dark. John felt a little bit scared. Before he figured out what was happening there, he noticed that the trees along the road changed to skeletons. They were very scary and ugly. Some of them opened their big mouths with needle like teeth and pointy ears. They seemed to want to eat John ruthlessly. Some of them hung their bloody tongues out of their mouths, which were about to lick him. Some of them had green long hair and some of them wore a long black gown. John stared at them while he was walking. He seemed to hear their shouting, “don’t let him go, let’s catch him.” “I am a man”. John encouraged himself but still walked a little faster.
Soon he got to where Ann’s home was supposed to be. John was freaked out when he looked at the house. The house was like a cemetery now. The patio was gone, in stead there was a head stone. Two pumpkins were hanging beside the headstone, which had been carved like ghost faces. The two pumpkins were shaking in the wind. “Ann, I am here.” John shouted. The headstone opened slowly. John heard Ann’s voice, “come on in, John. I am ready to go.” John was frightened. But he did not want to lose face in front of Ann. He decided to be brave. Just when John moved forward for only one step, he heard a sharp sound. “Mew” A big black cat with a white flash rushed toward him. He could hardly stand still. He was frightened, turned around and started to run as quickly as he could. “Happy Halloween, John. Hey, it is me, Ann.” Ann shouted at him and laughed. Suddenly the lights were turned on. John could see everything now. Yes, it was Ann disguised as the black cat Morris with a white belly. They were in Ann’s home now. “This is a punishment for you. Remember you scared me with worms last Halloween?” Ann smiled at him. “How can you make it?” John was flushed and asked. “I will tell you next Halloween. Now let’s go and get some candies.”
