A Letter from Miss. Liz

(2006-02-01 09:08:37) 下一個

When I picked up Olivia at the daycare last Friday (1/20/06), I found a letter with two beautiful angels in her mail box. It was from Ms. Liz whose last day at the daycare was that day.

I thought she probably wrote a letter to each of the kids in class but I did not find the same letter in any mail boxes, some which looked like they have not been checked for days, which seemed strange.

Then Olivia told me that Ms. Liz told her about the letter and asked her not to tell the other kids “Like Mathew (her best friend), as Mathew did not get one and I was the only one got the letter.” Then she went on about how nice Ms. Liz is that she always plays with her and cheers her up especially when she was upset.  The following is the letter.

“Dear Olivia,

Well, today is my last day at the center. I can’t imagine not seeing your beautiful smiling face everyday! I will miss you so so so much! So please keep in touch when you can. Here is my phone number and email.

Feel free to contact me and let me know how you are doing! Thanks for everything! You have truly blessed my life!

                                                                        Love you!

                                                                        Miss Liz”

I was really touched by the letter and so I sent the following email to Ms. Liz yesterday.

“Dear Miss. Liz,
Thank you very much for the touching letter you gave to Olivia. Olivia felt so special as she told me that she was the only one got the letter from you. She also told me that you are a very nice teacher which I have no doubt about :), always playing with her and cheering her up especially when she was upset. I would like to thank you for all the attention you gave to her and everything you did for her for the past 4 months, it means a lot to her and us.

I am sorry I did not get a chance to say goodbye to you on your last day (I am a horrible mom is that sense, can never keep track of what is going on each day at the daycare) so here I would like to wish you a very successful career in the future! Again, thank you for the beautiful letter and we will keep in touch. - Olivia’s mom”

And here is her reply today:

“Oh you are so welcome!  I truly bonded with Olivia and I am going to miss her terribly.  It was so hard to leave her and the kids on Friday!  I do want to visit though!  She is such a pleasure to have in class.  All her teachers will be lucky to have her.  Have a great day! - Ms. Liz”

It is such a heart warming feeling when you know that your little angel has touched someone’s heart at such a tender age. She is truly special and I am proud to be her mom.
