Babysitter

Eriko is a Japanese girl who works in my department. She is beautiful, smart and funny, with very long eye lashes you rarely see in oriental girls.  Eriko loves kids. After she saw the pictures of Olivia and Evan one day on my desk, she volunteered to baby sit for us: “You do not have to pay me, seriously.” Then she joked “How about I pay you to baby sit them?”

We gave it a try and Olivia and Evan LOVED her.  Whenever they saw her car pulling up to the drive way, they would run to the door and screaming: “Yeah! Eriko is here!” and jumped up and down. Evan at the time could not even say her name right (he called her Miko) but still he would giggle and run around in small circles and threw himself to the floor. He does that when he gets very excited and does not know what to do with himself.

Eriko can draw cartoons like a professional. We do not pay her a “competitive salary”, but that does not stop her from buying gifts for my kids, color books, pens and even a book.

How lucky we are to have Eriko as our babysitter!
