Visiting Those Children Who Received Bombs As A Gift

By:Giorgio Provinciali

Live from Ukraine ????????

Ridkivtsi St. Nicholas Day is the most anticipated day of the year for Ukrainian children. According to tradition, St. Claus passes by during the night, leaving a sweet or small gift under the pillows of good children. Along with the volunteers and soldiers we met on Friday, returning from Donbas, who were begging to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces,we visited those who, instead of candy and toys, received bombs and missiles. So many that they left them with lasting trauma, destroying their families and even the Childrens Home in Druzhkivka, in the Donetsk Oblast, where they had been first rescued. In that devastated city just minutes from Kramatorsk, we had just spentsome of the most dramatic nights of our lives: three-ton glide bombs and drones of all kinds, including the FPVs by which the Russians targeted the car we were traveling in, were constantly alternating throughout the entire time and continue to do so even now.

Living in Druzhkivka today is almost impossible.
Two days ago, the city was again carpet-bombed, so much so that even the building that had offered us shelter until a few hours earlier was razed to the ground.Of the 1,200 glide bombs dropped by the Russians on Ukraine in the last week, half fell on Donbas, along with a large portion of the 1,600 high-explosive drones and 70 missiles launched to worsen the situation on that front.
When we arrived at the shelter that the Chernivtsi authorities had set up for young war refugees, we foundover fifty of them in heartbreaking condition. Scarred physically and mentally, many hadpermanent brain injuries: some couldnt even comprehend that we were bringing them sweets and toys. Many had blank stares and scarred faces. Only a few still have a parent or close family member; most have been orphaned. Many have lost their sight or hearing. Most speak Russian. The images we captured (soon online on La Ragiones YouTube channel and website) are heartbreaking: a twelve-year-old boy hugged Alla so tightly that she fell; another called meDadand kept begging me not to leave.

With the same volunteers and soldiers we met a few days earlier,we tried to restore meaning to the feast of Saint Nicholas, and we will do so in the days leading up to Christmas. But the reality is thaton that very holiday, Putins regime in which the Americans are becoming complicit ordered the launch of over 700 drones and missiles and nearly 200 glide bombs.

We have dedicated hundreds of articles and reports to the plight of minors in Russias war against Ukraine, and we will soon write a book. Meanwhile, with reference to the macroeconomic and monetaryreviewof the National Bank of Ukraine, United Nations and Eurostat sourcesreportedthat128,000 Ukrainians left the country between October 3 and November 14, 2025:almost as many as in the entire previous six-month period (168,000). This mass exodus is due to the resurgence of Russian bombing, the governments decision to allow 18- to 24-year-olds to leave the country, and the increasingly limited international support for the Ukrainian resistance. The resistance is receiving fewer and fewer weapons, while the Russian aggressor produces or buys more and more.

Bolstered by its alliance with Washington,Moscow aims to occupy as much Ukrainian territory as possible under the cover of negotiations,declaredCommander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrsky.
We fully endorse this statement:the Russian regime shows no signs of reducing its military effort. No pause, no slowdown, no respite in the bombing of Ukrainian civiliansincluding children he didnt deport but whose families, homes, and lives he destroyed.

Giorgio Provinciali

Giorgio Provinciali)

Giorgio Provinciali)

Giorgio Provinciali)
