I read two articles about students sports competitions written by Don Leypoldt in Bucks County Herald October 24 and November 21, 2024. Barbara gave me the Newspaper.
1) (A) “CR South rocks district tennis doubles”
In an all-Council Rock South final in Friday's 3A District One doubles tournament at Philadelphia's Legacy Tennis Center, top seeded junior Michelle Lerman/ senior Anya Zubenko rallied to defeat second seeded junior Kim Chen/sophomore Ava Bograd 4-6, 6-0, 6-2. All four all CR South teammates.
(B) “Pennridge ice hockey beats Boyertown.”
It took just 18 seconds after his first goal for Pennridge’s James Rush to get his second last Wednesday night at Hatfield Rush’s output gave the Rams a 2-0 lead against Boyertown less than 200 seconds into the game. Pennridge (2-0-0-1) never trailed in its 6-3 win.
"On the first one, I had a step on the guy and took it wide around him," Rush described."I knew the goalie was going to be playing on the short side and I put it on the far side.
"For the second one, (Shane Dachowski) shot, there was a rebound and I got the clean up. It was a good team play,"Rush concluded.
2) I think: During their time at school, students are in a period of physical growth and development. Schools should not only teach students theoretical knowledge but also attach importance to their physical exercise. Both of these articles are about student sports competitions. Only a few students take part in sports competitions. Schools should attach importance to the healthy growth of all students and not pursue the reputation of being champions.
From 1952 to 1955, I studied at Shanghai Shixi (市西)High School. The principal attached great importance to students' physical activities. Every morning, we had to do morning exercises before going to class. I studied at Peking University from 1955 to 1960, and the president also attached great importance to sports. We go running every morning, take a cold shower , this had a great influence on my life, and I still insist on exercising every day to this day.
I'm currently living in an American senior apartment. There are many open Spaces around, and I do my activities on the open Spaces. However, very few elderly people in the United States exercise. A few of them might go to the gym for activities.
