In the spring dawn I was sleeping sound,

處處聞啼鳥。
Waked up by the birds chirping around.

夜來風雨聲，
Blame it on the wind and rain last night

花落知多少。
That countless flowers dropped on the ground.

(每句9個音節；尾韻AABA）

春眠不覺曉，
This spring dawn I was sleeping sound,

Woke up with bird calls all around.

夜來風雨聲，
Came the wind and rain in the night,

花落知多少。
Countless flowers dropped to the ground.
