請在祂的麵前保持安靜，即使無數的任務爭相吸引你的注意力。沒有什麽比與祂共度時光更重要。當你在祂的麵前等候時，祂會在你內心最好地工作——通過更新你的思想來改變你。如果你縮短了與祂在一起的時間，你可能會衝進錯誤的活動中，錯過祂為你計劃的豐盛。

不要僅僅因為祂能給你什麽而尋找祂。請記住，作為給予者的祂，比祂所能賦予的任何事情都要大得多。雖然祂喜歡祝福祂的兒女，但當祂的祝福成為你心中的偶像時，祂會深深地悲傷。任何事情都可能成為偶像，如果它讓你從祂作為你起初的愛中分心。當祂是你心中最終的渴望時，你就不會陷入偶像崇拜的危險中。當你在祂的麵前等候時，享受最偉大的禮物：你裏麵的基督，榮耀的盼望！

Be still in His presence, even though countless tasks clamor for your attention. There is nothing more important than spending time with Him. As you wait in His presence, He will do His best work within you, transforming you by renewing your mind. If you skimp on this time with Him, you may plunge headlong into the wrong activities, missing the richness of what He has planned for you.

Do not seek Him primarily for what He can give you. Remember that He, the giver, is infinitely greater than anything He might impart to you. Although He delights in blessing His children, He is deeply grieved when His blessings become idols in their hearts. Anything can be an idol if it distracts you from Him as your first love. When He is the ultimate desire of your heart, you are safe from the danger of idolatry. As you wait in His presence, enjoy the greatest gift of all: Christ in you, the hope of glory!
