煙雨小蠻腰

二沙頭，是廣州市的珠江上的一個嶼洲，曾經是體育集訓基地，訓練過許多中華奧運健兒，今天許多體育用品商店集中在這裏。

廣州塔被大眾昵稱為“小蠻腰”，是今天廣州地標建築，在二沙頭島上的煙雨路上看到的“小蠻腰”更加妖嬈。

煙雨路來到海山街，有一個文化街區。海山街珠江邊有星海音樂廳，星海音樂廳周圍有風雅的西餐廳，有廣東藝術館，還有廣東華僑博物館。圖片為廣東華僑博物館內大廳，大廳內有古老遠洋木船模型。回國路過廣州，不妨抽空到此一遊。

Nevada Salutes Chinese Pioneers During Centennial Celebrations

The State of Nevada of the United States last week paid tribute to Chinese pioneers who contributed to its development.

Nevada is celebrating its centennial. Governor Grant Sawyer officially proclaimed Oct. 24 and 25 as “Salute to Chinese Pioneer Days”.

A monument was dedicated at the City of Sparks Oct. 24 to honor the “esteemed memory” of Chinese pioneers who worked on railroads, canals, mines and farms.

Ceremonies were attended by Governor Sawyer and Senator Hiram Fong from Hawaii, the only U. S. Senator of Chinese descent.

San Francisco Consul-General Che Yin-shou and prominent Chinese civic leaders from San Francisco and Nevada cities were present.
