Trump的拐點

John McCain去年在Trump攻擊他的時候他沒說話，還表態支持Trump...可當Trump 攻擊為國捐軀的戰士的父母時，他卻再也忍不住了, 今天的發言讓人感動。一個還有任何能力來同情別人的人，應該知道Trump的言論，即使按照Trump標準，也是beyond the pale.  如果這還不是Trump的拐點，他將不會再有拐點。而Trump的當選將意味美國失去了繼續領導世界的合法性, 曾經代表人類先進文明文化的美國, 將不複存在。

"Captain Khan's death in Iraq, on June 8th, 2004, was a shining example of the valor and bravery inculcated into our military. When a suicide bomber accelerated his vehicle toward a facility with hundreds of American soldiers, Captain Khan ordered his subordinates away from the danger.

從任何立場上看，無論左派右派，無論共黨還是共和黨，Captain Khan的行為都稱得上是真正的英雄。在危險來臨時，他把生的希望留給部下，自己卻走向死亡。

John McCain說：

"I cannot emphasize enough how deeply I disagree with Mr. Trump's statement. I hope Americans understand that the remarks do not represent the views of our Republican Party, its officers, or candidates,"

"I'd like to say to Mr. and Mrs. Khan: thank you for immigrating to America. We're a better country because of you. And you are certainly right; your son was the best of America, and the memory of his sacrifice will make us a better nation -- and he will never be forgotten."

今天共和黨全國委員會主席Priebus 代表共和黨說： 

“I believe these Gold Star families are off limits, and they're to be loved and cherished and honored. We don't go there, and I don't go there. Donald Trump is going to speak for Donald Trump. I mean, he wants to defend himself, and it's understandable. But look, like I said before, this is a family that is grieving and they have a right to and we have an obligation to honor them and to love them and to cherish them. That's where I come from; that's where our party comes from."

Ryan Paul說：

"America's greatness is built on the principles of liberty and preserved by the men and women who wear the uniform to defend it. As I have said on numerous occasions, a religious test for entering our country is not reflective of these fundamental values. I reject it.

"Many Muslim Americans have served valiantly in our military and made the ultimate sacrifice. Capt. Khan was one such brave example. His sacrifice — and that of Khizr and Ghazala Khan — should always be honored. Period."

Sen. Lindsey Graham 說：

"Unacceptable' doesn't even begin to describe it。 This is going to a place where we've never gone before, to push back against the families of the fallen. There used to be some things that were sacred in American politics — that you don't do — like criticizing the parents of a fallen soldier even if they criticize you. "
