February 20, 2026 – Parks, Food, and Street Art

In the morning we visited Parque Bicentenario, a beautiful park near our hotel in Las Condes. It was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy views of the skyline of Santiago.

The park had many interesting features:

  • A large pond filled with Black-necked Swan, which were very elegant and calm.

  • A dog park where many locals were walking their pets.

  • A rose garden and landscaped walking paths.

  • A small pond with lovebirds and other water birds.

One unique building in the park is the Vitacura City Hall, which has a modern ship-like design and stands near the water.

After a long and refreshing walk, we went to lunch at Pizzería Tiramisu, a very popular pizza restaurant that was quite crowded.

For lunch we ordered:

  • Eggplant pizza

  • An appetizer platter

  • Caesar salad

  • And of course another Pisco Sour, Chile’s national cocktail.

The pizza portion was large and delicious, and we could not finish it, so we kept half of it as leftovers for later.

Afternoon in Barrio Bellavista

In the afternoon we returned downtown to explore Barrio Bellavista, a neighborhood famous for its street art and murals. Many houses and buildings are decorated with colorful paintings that reflect local culture and artistic expression. The murals are not only decorative but also part of the neighborhood’s identity.

Santiago Cathedral

Later we finally visited the Santiago Metropolitan Cathedral located in Plaza de Armas. The cathedral’s origins date back to around 1561, although the current structure was built later and features Baroque-style architecture. The interior was impressive with detailed decorations and religious artwork.

Evening – Sky Costanera Sunset & Nightlife

  • Went to Sky Costanera for sunset.

  • Sat in the café at the top of the building and watched the sunset over the city and Andes mountains—a truly breathtaking view.

  • After 9 pm, enjoyed some short dancing and fun with live music and a DJ in the observation area.

  • Walked back to the hotel in the dark. The area felt safe, and the evening ended with a satisfied and happy feeling after a full day of exploring.
