肺炎球菌疫苗 pneumococcal vaccination

美國疾病預防控製中心建議5歲以下兒童和50歲以上成人接種肺炎球菌疫苗。

 

CDC recommends pneumococcal vaccination for children younger than 5 years and adults 50 years or older. 

 

CDC also recommends pneumococcal vaccination for children and adults at increased risk for pneumococcal disease.  Oct 26, 2024

麵臨肺炎球菌病風險的人：

• People at increased risk: People with certain conditions should also get the vaccine, including: 
  • Sickle cell disease 
  • Coeliac disease 
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) 
  • Cystic fibrosis 
  • Coronary heart disease 
  • Heart failure 
  • Chronic kidney disease 
  • Cirrhosis 
  • Diabetes 
  • Weakened immune system 

Why get the pneumococcal vaccine?

The pneumococcal vaccine protects against many common types of pneumococcal bacteria. Pneumococcal bacteria can cause: 

 

• Pneumonia, which can cause fever, chills, cough, chest pain, and breathing problems
• Meningitis, which can cause fever, stiff neck, light sensitivity, headache, and confusion

You can talk to your doctor about whether you should get the pneumococcal vaccine.
