電影取材於真實故事。 Michael oher 是一無家可歸的黑人少年。 Leigh Anne Tuohy 和丈夫在路邊發現了他，把他領回家，最後成為他的監管人。Michael oher 具有極強的football 身體條件和天賦， 在這對夫妻，學校和私人家教的幫助下，Michael oher 無論是學習還是foot ball都實現了他的潛能，最終進入大學學習並成為一名football player.

藝術來源於生活但又高於生活。 這部電影也不例外。 電影中加入了一些耐人尋味的情節。比如 Leigh Anne Tuohy 和朋友吃午餐，談到North Memphis , Leigh問 "Have you spent much time on the other side of town?" " it sounds like a threat, I think it might hurt me to go there Or hurt your reputation to go there " 其中一個朋友答道。而另一個朋友則是這樣回答的:

這部電影獲得了奧斯卡最佳電影提名，而 Sandra Bullock 也憑此片獲得奧斯卡最佳女主角。 不知是不是被電影inspire，Sandra Bullock分別在2010年和2015 年領養了兩個黑人孩子。而在采訪時說："Do not call them lucky." 這部電影在電視經常播放，就像《Forest Gump》一樣，我跟著電視看了一遍又遍。
當然這部電影也招致了一些批評。有人指出它表達了"white savior： Michael oher ,一個africa american, 如果沒有白人領養媽媽的引導是不可能克服貧困，接受教育取得今天成就的“。 聽起來有點雞蛋裏頭挑骨頭。
最後，Tuohy 一家送Michael oher 到大學， 開車回家的路上，Sandra Bullock 一段獨白讓人深思。
"I read a story the other day about a boy from the projects. No daddy, in and out of foster care. He'd been killed in a gang fight at Hurt Village.
In the last paragraph they talked about his superb athletic skills and how different his life
might have been if he hadn't fallen behind and dropped out of school, He was twenty-one years old the day he died. It was his birthday.
That could have been anyone. It could have been my son, Michael. But it wasn't.
And I suppose I have God to thank for that."
電影的結尾，真實的Tuohy Family 出現在電影裏， 每次看到這家人，心中都有一絲感動。 他們改變了一個人的命運。
曾經開車路過一些被人形容無人敢去的差區，也經常在電視看到各種 violence 新聞，美國的一些社區存在很大問題，而美國似乎沒有更好的辦法解決這個問題。
前一段時間看新聞， 幾位球星在2016 ESPYS 呼籲停止violence ， Lebrone James 的一段話讓人欽佩。
"Let’s use this moment as a call to action for all professional athletes to educate ourselves, explore these issues, speak up, use our influence and renounce all violence,” “And most importantly, go back to our communities and invest our time, our resources, help rebuild them, help strengthen them, help change them. We all have to do better.”
《The Blind Side 》是一部值得一看的電影。裏麵的Tuohy 一家 讓人感動，因為他們不鄙視，不偏見，不歧視,不逃避而是伸出手去幫助。
