楓葉國慶節：“隻要一點時間”

今天，七月一日，在渥太華國會山莊，加拿大147年國慶慶祝大會上，Terry Kelly 重演了一首令人動容，和沉思的歌曲：“A Pittance of Time”——“給他們一點時間”。

此歌寫作曆史：

1999年11月11日－－是第一次世界大戰停戰81年紀念日。 Terry Kelly 特利克裏在Nova Scotia一家Drug 店裏購物。 10點55分時，商店廣播：希望所有顧客在11點整，向那些為了今日和平生活，而曾經浴血奮戰的退伍軍人們致敬2分鍾。 11點正，商店再次播告。然而，有一位帶著孩子的父親，在那沉默哀靜的兩分鍾內，仍然繼續挑選他的商品。 Kelly為這位不能為孩子做出榜樣的父親，感到憤怒。他感歎戰爭結束了，人們對和平生活已經習以為常，但是，忘卻了對那些保衛國家利益的戰士感恩，連短短兩分鍾敬禮時間都不願付出。
