If a person is raised with the sole focus on how to make enough money to retire at 40, such an education is utterly flawed, and such parents are relentlessly destructive.
A person's achievements should be measured by how much influence they can exert and how they can benefit others and their organization in the workplace. Glory should come from being able to shoulder greater responsibilities. As for the subsequent financial rewards, they are a natural outcome.
From a young age, a person's mind should cultivate a sense of honor, a spirit of service, and the ability to think on a grand scale, rather than just staying at the level of material survival and petty calculations.
