A very special vacation - by my 8 years old daughter

After sitting in a very stinky car, we were in the airport.  While we waited we saw a German shepherd dog named Benny. We watched as it found something hiding behind a luggage. Soon it was time to go on the airplane. As soon as I fastened my seatbelt, I knew that my very special vacation was about to start!

I woke up the next morning in a Tampa Bay hotel. I was very excited because today I would go on my first cruise ship. But before that, we went to Fort Lauderdale. I saw many snail kite eagles on our way.

 
     

Before we knew it, we had settled in the cruise ship. I was quite surprised when I first looked around. I thought it would be much cheaper looking. Also on the cruise ship my brother and I watched lots of new movies. That night, we met a staff member that helped my parents put down the top bunks where I would sleep.

The next day, we went to a beautiful beach named Princess Cay. I tried to snorkel but I swallowed a lot of salty water so I didn’t try again for a long time. But after my dad learned how, he taught me how in the shallow water. After a few more times he said that we were going to go in the deep end where all the fish were. I tried to avoid looking in the water because of the black spots that were rocks. The black spots reminded me about octopuses trying to bite my toes. After looking down from the surface of the water, I swam right back. The second time I put my head in the water I realized that up close it wasn’t scary. I saw different kinds of fishes in the deep end. My brother even found a huge seashell! That night there was also an amazing show called Colors of the World.

The third day was my first day in kids club. I met a lot of kids there. In the kids club, there were lots of games to play and my favorite part was the Arts Station. Soon everybody was called to the carpet to do human bingo. I won the third prize which was a multi-colored slinky. That night was our first formal night. I wore a pretty dark pink dress with sparkly pink shoes. Lots of people made compliments about me.

 
On the fourth day, we went to St. Thomas. First we went to Coral World. There wasn’t just fish; there were lots of parrots and sea turtles too. We also went to Coki beach. It is very crowded. I didn’t snorkel there, but I still looked underwater. I enjoyed chasing the fish away. That night there was another show. It was a magic show with a fantastic magician named David Cats. My brother even got picked as a volunteer.

On the fifth day, we went to St.Maarten. The waves there are huge especially the far end. I jumped over some and dove in some.

Saturday was the second last day. It was another formal night. I wore my second outfit that was a white shirt with a snowflake in the middle and a sparkling white skirt.

Sunday was my birthday. When I woke up I found a box that had a necklace inside. In kids club I got a tiara that said Happy Birthday and a stuffy. At dinner, we got a free cake because of my birthday.

The day after that, we went to the Everglades. I learned that there is only one Everglades and there always will be in the whole world. We went on a tour and saw lots of birds, 2 alligators, and 4 sea turtles.

 

The last part of our vacation we went to Universal Studios. We arrived at night and we went on two rides. We first went on the Seuss Landing and then Harry Potter Castle. The next day we went to Islands of Adventure. We saw many shows and went on many rides. The last ride was a 3D similarity ride that was extremely popular. The line was still very long at the end of the day but it was worth it.

After that we returned home. That was my very special vacation because I experienced lots of things such as: the first cruise ship, the first similarity ride, and the first time snorkeling.
