Stocks end basically flat. There was no economic data today. McDonald's February sales are strong; Cisco jumps ahead of a Tuesday announcement. MetLife and AIG shares rise on Met's deal to buy an AIG division for $15.5 billion.

Tuesday is the anniversary of the March 9 market bottom,when the Dow closed at 6,547, off nearly 54% from its October 2007 peak.
