Scarborough Fair《斯卡布羅集市》

今天下午，先生和我商量這個寒假重返英國，並且說等女兒一放寒假就走。他的話勾起我對在英國美好時光的回憶，也使我想起我最喜愛的歌曲之一，由一首十七世紀英格蘭民謠改編的《Scarborough Fair》（中譯：斯卡布羅集市）。無論是白天，還是在萬籟寂靜的深夜裏，這首歌都能打動我的心。

Scarborough Fair《斯卡布羅集市》（保羅---西蒙樂隊）

《Scarborough Fair》是美國六十年代最受大學生歡迎的電影、1968年奧斯卡獲獎片《畢業生》中的主題曲。歌曲名稱：《Scarborough Fair》（中譯：斯卡布羅集市），原唱歌手：Paul Simon （保羅·西蒙）和Art Garfunkel（加芬克爾）。歌曲由Paul Simon和Art Garfunkel 改編自一首十七世紀英格蘭民謠，作於六十年代末。

聽歌重在聽"歌眼"，正如文章中標識題旨的"文眼"。這一首SCARBOROUGH FAIR歌眼就是PARSLEY ,SAGE ,ROSEMARY AND THYME"蕪荽,鼠尾草,迷迭香和百裏香"，歌者在SAGE與THYME上有意延長似乎是在提醒我們注意：SAGE既指鼠尾草，同時又有"賢明/聖哲"之意；而THYME則與TIME諧音。讓我們再度回頭審視歌名，原本熟悉的歌名似乎也變了麵目：SCAR-BORROW-FAIR。SCAR與FAIR昭示了歌者的本意—戰爭與和平 。

歌作者保羅.西蒙是六、七十年代青年的代言人。他曾在英國修習英國文學，文學底蘊深厚，因而其歌詞文字意境深邃。在演唱上西蒙和加豐科的配合可謂天衣無縫。後來,更有許多的歌手演繹版,包括女聲版。她們將歌詞中的“she”改變成“he”。
