Growing Up is A Process

老大小時候, 有無數的照片, 還現學了Dream Waver, 給她做了個網頁, 裏麵紀錄了她的各種Mile Stone, 美麗瞬間.

老二生出來, 這些就少了很多. 前天填表, 要填她的各種Mile Stone, 發現好多都不記得了. 覺得自己真是個失職的媽媽. 在這裏趕緊開始補課.

DD: mom, I have to learn how to speak spanish.
Me: Oh?
DD: because, after I grow up, if I visit 中國, everyone speaks spanish, but I don't know how to speak, then what am I going to do?

我給她讀書, 叫 pigs great escape.
讀了題目, 她問, what does escape mean?
我說, 就是跑跑了.

DD: em, I have to learn how to escape.

晚上睡前.
mom: 大寶二寶快睡覺.
dd: 媽媽, I like whatever you call me. but, please just don't call me 大寶or二寶. 叫寶貝兒就好了. 姐姐是大寶and二寶.

一天先接dd, 然後才去學校接cc.
去姐姐學校的路上,
dd: mommy, you should have picked cc first.
me: why? she wanted to go daycare.
dd: because, you know, i wouldn't say hi to her teachers. if you pick up her first, then pick up me, then i don't need to say hi to her teachers.

傍晚她有點累了. 跟我說: mommy, i am just slightly sleepy.

Lisa跟我說, DD跟她說:
I had a lovely lovely birthday cake. it got dark chocolate, light chocolate, white chocolate, cream, coco nuts, ( it was accutally macadamia nuts)everything! it was just lovely!
I really didn't know she liked it that much!

昨天早上, 我告訴她, 下午要去看醫生, 做4歲的well baby check up. 所以, 她從早上就開始擔憂, 一再告訴我不想去看醫生. 我使用各種能想到的伎倆, 終於, 跟我上了車.
護士來叫名字了. 她又開始害怕, 還一邊大哭起來. 拉著我的手使勁往後拖, 不肯進門.
我隻好抱著她進去.

當醫生進來的時候, 她雖然很安靜, 但是, 臉上掛著大眼淚, 緊鎖著眉毛, 小嘴嘟得能掛個瓶子. 醫生看著她, 忍不住笑. 問她幾歲了, 她硬硬的說: " 4!" 後來, 又要醫生告訴她手上的小孢上粘個小貼就好了, 她大聲說: "NO!" 嗆得醫生雙手抱著頭, 不知所措.
一切檢察結束後, 醫生要走了, 說護士會進來打疫苗針. 我猜想她要哭了.
可是, 意想不到的是, 醫生走了, 她跟我說, : " I don't want to have shots."
me: " you know, you have too. "
She: " okay. I want Leddy to do it on my leg then. you know why? shoulders are hard. legs are soft. I am not going to cry."
and, thats exactly what she did. for each shot, she let out a soft " ouch". 2 shots on each leg. 從一邊換到另一邊的時候, 她先拿小手蓋了一下腿, 然後, 慢慢將手移開. 讓護士打了. 4 針結束, 她立刻高興的跳下來, 說: " I am going to get a prize! I didn't cry!"

DD說話很高笑, 因為她喜歡將聽來的詞藻用在她平日的話裏. 這裏紀錄兩個:

這幾天姐姐在練習唱歌劇幽靈裏的歌. 裏麵有一句:" let daylight dry your tears"
今天DD叫我過去, 指著她眼角一滴眼淚說: " I want you to dry my tears."

DD從Halloween要來的糖裏, 選了一個綠色蟲子狀的軟糖. 打開咬了一口後, 被爸爸告知, 要吃飯了, 不可以吃糖. 然後, 將她剩下的部分放在一個紙盤子裏, 說吃完飯可以接著吃.

吃完飯, 她立刻找爸爸問:

" Daddy, where is my bowl full of worm?"

早晨下很大的雨.

我和DD開車在去PT的路上. DD說, : Mommy, Turn on your wiper. clean the rain.

So I did.

然後, DD看著她旁邊的窗子說: " But my window is still full of rain. I wish there is a rain bug, that does not bite me, but will clean all the rain."

我在車後視鏡裏看見DD 在挖鼻孔.

Me: " DD, 你的小手在幹什麽呀?"

DD (笑): " 我的小手在扣扣ing 我的nose."

Me,(看來這中文加ing 是自然學會的. 這中英文混得, 不過先改容易的吧) : " Nose的中文怎麽說呀?"  (嗬嗬, 忘了最初問話的主題."

DD: " I know, 就是, No (發2 聲)子!"

Me: 沒辦法, 忍不住笑, 把挖鼻孔和中文混說兩個主題全忘了!

This is a little conversation Alexia and I had in bed before she fell
asleep last night.

She: " Mommy, when I grew as big as you, I will go buy a baby."
Me: " Oh. you know, babies are not for sale. You can't buy a baby."
She: " Why?"
Me: " Because no mommies would want to sell their babies."
She: " Why?"
Me: " see, if someone want to pay me some money and take you away, do you
think I should sell you?"
She:" No."
Me: " That's right. All mommies would not trade their babies for anything in
the world."
She: " Then how I am going to have a baby?"
Me: " You will have your own baby."
She: "But How am I going to have my own baby?"
Me: " You will grow your baby in  your tummy."
She: " But I don't want to have a baby in my tummy."
Me: " Why?"
She: " because then I have to go see a doctor. I don't want to see a
doctor!"

She was about to cry now...

早餐桌上, 隻剩我和DD.

DD: " can you move if you die?"
Me: " I don't really know. because I never died."
DD: " why did you never die?"
Me: " I guess because I am not that old yet, besides, I want to here with you."
DD: " what if I died? what if I always died?"
Me: " I will not let that happen. because you are so healthy, and so young. "
DD: " you think our house will not fall?"
Me: " It will not."
DD: " Because it is strong? so strong? like this strong? " ( 將胳膊伸到最開以表示很大)
Me: " Yes! it is that strong!"

pause... DD 做思索狀.

DD: " Will  you become an angel when you die?"
Me: " I hope so."
DD: " But I want to be an angel."
Me: " You ARE my angel. but I want you to be right here with me, at home."
DD: " How about, What if we both died?"..

it is getting a little too gloomy. I needed to change topic.

Me: " DD, 你知不知道你的中文名字是什麽呀?"
DD, 立刻轉換了表情, 高興的說: " I know, 我是 金槍盒!"

我暈倒!

Me: " DD, 我什麽時候給你起得這麽土的名字? 你叫...."
DD 虛心的笑了. " 哦, ..." ( 重複自己的中文名字)
我看著她, 實在忍不住笑:" DD, 你怎麽這麽好笑呢! you always make me laugh!"
DD 看著我, 說: " Mommy, I love you!"
Me: I love you too!" (心裏劇感動)

母女兩深情擁抱後...

DD: " but I also love, Daddy, 姐姐, 姥姥..."
Me: " I know.."
我心想, 原來我也沒有那麽特別, 這時, DD接著說:

" and the neighbors too!"

阿! 可憐我神情凝望了她這麽久, 原來就和名字都不怎麽知道的鄰居差不多! 虛榮心被徹底打翻!

DD說話, 喜歡用"大"詞, 從她的小嘴說出來, 就有喜劇效果. 不過常常笑過就忘了. 這個趕緊記下來.
比如昨天她不說 " I found out that..." , 而是說: " I discovered that..."

今天大家講起說中文, 於是, DD馬上開始展示她會的字:
爸爸,
媽媽,
爺爺,
奶奶,
臉蛋兒,
眼睛,
耳朵,
.....

"還有", 她說,

"NO子"

原來她說的是: 鼻子! or Nose!

我做飯的時候, DD跟我說話我沒有聽見, 結果她提高了聲音:

"Mommy, To Tell You The Truth, You need to look at my Board!"

詞不達意還一本正經, 她太好笑了..


早晨DD有點耍賴, 說不要去上學. 勸說了一陣子, 她說, " Mommy, I want to go to school, but my bear doesn't want to go to school. My bear is a "born" little baby ( she acctually meant "poor little baby"), if I go to school, and she stays home, then how can I take care of her?"

DD 問,
Why sometimes there is earthquake? ( 從地震過去到現在已經很久了, 她還在想?
Why do we need to wear socks?
Why if we wear sun screen, then we are not afraid of the sun burn?
is our house going to fall?

DD和姐姐兩個又開始討論養Pet的問題.

CC: " I like dogs. we should have a dog."
DD:" I like cats. We should have a cat."
CC:" Maybe we can have one dog and one cat!"
DD:" Yeah! then I can play with my cat, and you can play with your dog!"
然後DD做沉思裝, 然後說,
" Maybe we should only have a dog or a cat. because is we have a dog and a cat, the dog will bite the cat!"

I wonder how she learned this concept?

爸爸給DD讀書, 裏麵有一個小熊, 名字有點拗口.

爸爸念的有點不對, DD就給爸爸糾正.

糾正了3,4次以後, DD決定放棄, 建議到:

"How about you can just call him Bear?"

DD: Mama, You want to hear a secret?
Me: " Okay" - 把頭伸過去湊近點.
DD: 隻見動嘴, 不見聲音.
Me: " I can't hear you."
DD: " Because it is a secret!"

早晨, DD賴在床上不肯起來. 看我走進房間, 她大聲宣布: " 我不要刷牙!"
我: " 哦? 為什麽呀?"
她:" 因為我不想"
我拿起她手裏摟著的大熊, 對著她假裝聞聞: " 還沒刷牙?大熊覺得臭臭哦!"
她愣一下, 然後看著我:" 媽媽, 你有沒有刷牙?"
我:"刷了!"
她慢慢地說:" 那為什麽大熊還說臭臭呢?"
然後快速鑽到被子裏去, 嘻嘻地笑了!

今天是在Disneyland的第二天.  在排隊的時候, DD說: " I think Cinderella is really lucky." I asked :" oh? Why?"
DD: " Because she gets to take pictures with so many kids!"

去接CC放學的路上, DD將兩塊學校給的Oreo 餅幹都吃了. 姐姐上了車, 看到妹妹嘴邊黑色的餅幹渣, 便問" : What did you just eat?"
DD: " Cookies"
CC:" What kind? Oreo?"
DD:" Yeah, Oreo"
CC:" " Can I have one?"
DD:" I ate all. All gone." ( 表情嚴肅, 好像有點大義凜然的樣子... 她一般都留點給姐姐分享的, 今天卻沒有.."
CC:" Really? Really?" ( 難以置信, 她最喜歡Oreo"
DD:" Yeah! Look at my Tummy" ( Pointing to her big tummy) - " It is full of Cookies!"


June 19, 2008

吃晚飯的時候, 叫DD來吃飯, 但是, 怎莫叫也不出聲. 我換了她的各種小名, 都沒有反應. 不知怎麽, 我出口說, Humpty Dumpty!

這下DD 回答了: " What?"
Me: " 過來吃飯"

DD: " No, I am sitting on the wall!"
(她此時正坐在沙發的邊上)

who is the boss?

在街上走路的時候, DD和CC 走在前麵. DD 嫌我走的慢了, 就喊道: " Mommy, Mommy, follow me!"

喊了幾聲, 看到我還是不夠快, 有點著急, 停下來:

" Mommy, Follow Your Daughter!"



June 14, 2008

吃綬故? DD忙著給她的熊做飯. 遲遲不肯過來吃自己的飯.
後來終於來了, 自覺理虧, 開口解釋到:

"  I decided to make that first. then I come to eat".
大家都說: " Okay."
看大家反應不太強烈, 她有點不滿:
" I have made a Good Decision!"


May 26th, 2008

第一次帶小丫頭們去劃船.
回來的路上, DD說: " I don't like boating. because I have to wear a pillow!"

(原來她覺得救生衣就是一個枕頭:-))

在車裏, DD 坐在Car Seat 裏麵, CC 坐在中間靠著妹妹.
CC 不停地轉著她的帽子. 結果碰到姐姐的眼睛.
我讓DD不要再轉帽子, 結果她看著姐姐說: " May be you can cover your eyes?"

I was speechless!

周末去了海邊. 又去了湖裏劃船.回來, DD在白板上畫畫. 她點呀點呀, 畫了很多的點點. 然後說, 這是 Ocean.

Wow, 我覺得很象呀...

DD : " Mommy, I want to sit here today" ( pointing to the seat between to the two car seatss)
Me: " Sorry, You are not old enough to sit in a grown up seat yet"
DD: " Why CC can sit here?"
Me: "She is old enough."
DD: " She is not old. She is not married."

April 19, 2008

DD: " Daddy, milk!"
Daddy: " Okay. But next time can you say " Daddy, May I have some milk please?"
DD: " Okay"
one minute later...
DD: " Dadday, do you want a beer?"
Daddy: " Okay"
DD: " Next time, can you say: " may i have a beer please?"



April 9th, 2008

爺爺奶奶今天從中國回來, DD 說：

DD: " Can CC speak Chinese with them?"
Me: " Sure. and you can speak Chinese with them too."
DD:" No, let them practice 英文．＂
Pause...
DD: " Let them practice English."

1-

今天我帶DD和CC去公園玩的時候, DD 說什麽也不肯戴帽子. 所以路上有點不愉快. 回家後, 老公聽說了, 就找她談話.

爸爸: " DD, 你剛才表現好不好啊?"
DD: " 好!"
爸爸: " 是嗎? 你有沒有聽媽媽的話呢?"
DD: " 有!"
爸爸:" 那你有沒有不肯帶帽子呢?"
DD: " Look! Daddy!" - 聲音極為驚訝的, 眼睛瞪得極為的大的:
爸爸:" What?"
DD: " they are same color!" ( 指著自己的衣服和褲子)
爸爸笑了, 關於帽子的談話也就就此終斷, 不再追究

DD 指著地上一堆玩具對我說: " Mommy, Look, all over the place!"
Me: "真是的, 這是誰幹的呀"
DD: " 姐姐"
Me: " 是嗎? 還是別人 呢? " ( 我其實看見是她在玩的, 隻是想怎麽告訴她我知道, 又不傷她的自尊心" "　也許是．．．．　大熊？＂（　這是我的計劃　－　"大熊" 的default 是指她的貼身玩具熊．　這麽好的台階，　我想她一定會Take的．　然後，　我準備再進一步問她，　是她的大熊還是我的大熊　－　（因為有時候我說DD是我的大熊）問道這一步，她就會不得不承認了．　然後就得自己去清理了）
可是，　DD人小鬼大，看穿了我的預謀．　

她稍微停了一下，　然後直接得出了結論：　＂　IT was MY Big Bear"

She made it clear. 我的計劃泡湯．　所以，　我隻好跟她一起，　清理了她的大熊作製造的Mess.

她好像常常能預見我要說的話. 記得大概半年多以前的一天, 她把一張椅子推到廚房的台麵前麵, 然後,手扶著椅子， 對正在廚房裏麵忙的我說: " MOMMY, I am not going to fall, okay?" 在我還沒來得及回答的時候, 她就理直氣壯地爬到椅子上站著了.

還有姥姥在的時候, 一年前了. 她總是喜歡脫襪子, 姥姥就總不讓. 所以, 她常常會先把姥姥支開, (比如說, 姥姥, 你去廚房吧!" ) 等姥姥走了, 她就立刻脫掉襪子"

今天跟DD走路去學校.

DD: " 媽媽, 這樣好不好. 我是tomato. 你是Strawberry. 姐姐是grape. 爸爸是fruite punch. 然後我問你話, 你回答, okay?"

媽媽: " Okay."

DD: " Hi, Strawberry."

媽媽: " Hi, Tomato."

DD: " Where is Grape, Strawberry?"

媽媽: " Grape is at school, Tomato."

DD: " Where is Fruite Punch, Strawberry?"

媽媽: " Fruite Punch is at work, Tomato."


March 2, 2008

今天的晚餐是 Meatball Pasta. CC很喜歡, 開吃.

DD: "我不要吃這個. 我不要西紅柿. 我就要麵條."

爸爸: " 這個好吃. 很好吃的. 嚐嚐就知道了"

DD: " 不要. 就要麵條."

媽媽: " 這樣吧.  媽媽給你盛點光麵條, 你比較一下哪個好吃, 然後, 再決定,  好不好?"

DD: " Okay!"

媽媽用一個小小的盤子盛了一點光光的pasta, DD 立刻吃了一口. 吃完後, 接著吃了一口帶Sauce的麵.

媽媽: " 你覺得哪個好吃些呀?"

DD: " 這個 ( 指著光麵條)和這個( 指著有sauce 的麵). Both of them. 都好吃"

媽媽: " Okay. 那就兩個輪著吃吧"

DD: " Okay!"

兩種雍?..

DD微簇眉頭,看著CC,  柔聲地說: " 姐姐. 你要不要吃這個? ( 指著光麵條) 我想跟你Share 這個麵條."

爸爸和媽媽互相對望, 心照不宣, 忍不住笑了.

CC: " Okay. I want more noodle" - 然後將妹妹的光麵條倒進自己盤裏的Sauce 裏麵.

今天開車的路上, DD說 " I have 3 choices. ...." 然後她詳細的解釋了她的3個選擇. 可惜我忘了我們討論的是什麽了 :-( 想起來再補上吧.

另外, 今天發現DD會倒著從10數到1. 正著數的話會數到59, 中間不露數的. 過了59, 就又從30開始了.



Feb 26, 2008

數數: 數到29, 中間有時候會少16 或17. 偶爾會繼續到30. 然後, 從21開始.
數東西: 如果被數的東西排列整齊的話, 能數到大概12,3個. 如果排列秩序不是很清楚的話, 東西又多的話, 有時候會數重.
加法: 能做簡單的加法, 如果被加的兩個數都小於5的話.(因為要借用手指頭:-)
能說出10以內任何一個數的後麵的數.
最近不太畫人和花了, 但仍喜歡畫跟種線條和曲線組合的幾何形狀.
自己的名字能寫個80%正確 (因為有時候E的位置隨心情而變, L 有時候是倒的:-)
從大概半年前開始能將顏色塗在線裏麵.
