(4) 雛兒是最喜歡吃我做的菜了。有一天我自創了一個“鬆子皮蛋豆腐”涼菜，非常受歡迎。大啖一通後，他頗為感慨地說：“Some food can go well together, like this Tofu and Pine Seeds; however some things really don't go well together, such as broccoli and kids.”

(5) 有一天放學回家，雛兒顯得神情哀傷，心事重重。剛一發問，他就淚眼汪汪地說：“Mom, why people have to die? I enjoy my life so much and I don't want to die.”我心裏一樂，原來是那“怕死情結”在作怪。轉念一想，何不用這一機會來敦促他花點心思在學習上呢？於是就說：“Sweetie, don't worry. A lot of scientists are working very hard to make people live longer. If you study hard, you can be an outstanding scientist too. And if you are smart enough, maybe you will invent something that can keep people live forever.”他聽了，眼睛一亮，沉思片刻後，又問：“Mom, is Einstein the most brilliant scientist in the world?”我急切地一個勁地點頭：“Yes! Yes!”誰知聽了我的回答，他的眼淚止不住的嘩啦啦地往下落：“He died!”他絕望地說。
