說起80年代的歐式舞曲旋風，當中最具代表性的就非Modern Talking莫屬了。來自德國的Modern Talking成軍於1983年，由於二位團員實力堅強，初試啼聲後即締造銳不可擋的歐式舞曲風潮。大帥哥主唱Thmas Anders有著一副特殊嗓音與迷人風采，極富創作才情的作曲者兼製作人Dieter Bohlen則是打造該團黃金歌曲的狠角色。1984年推出的首支單曲『You\'re My Heart, You\'re My Soul』便以迅雷不及掩耳的強力旋風，吹刮在全球的各大小舞壇中。在發表了第二首單曲『You Can Win If You Want』以後一年，1985年首張LP大碟『The First Album』問世。1986年的『Brother Louie』更是陪伴許多人走過青澀歲月的解壓歌曲，這首歌實在是太有名了，以至於被50多種語言翻唱過。林珊珊翻唱的粵語版叫『連鎖反應』，鄧潔儀翻唱的國語版叫『路燈下的小姑娘』。這幾句在一盞路燈的下麵，有一個小姑娘在哭泣....親愛的，小妹妹，不要不要哭泣...，縱使你不會唱，估計也會在當年大街小巷的各種擴音喇叭薰陶中聽到耳熟！
以後的兩年中，Modern Talking憑著優雅的假聲演唱和清新的舞曲節拍紅遍了整個世界，事業達到了頂峰。在Modern Talking的聲勢正如日中天時，兩人竟因理念不合而在1987年時分道揚鑣了，同年年底唱片公司推出兩人解散後才出版的專輯『In The Garden Of Venus』。但如此的黃金組合怎可能就此解散消失呢！兩人在度過不是很成功的十年單飛後，終於又在1998年重新攜手合作，推出重組後的首張精選大碟『Back For Good』，並創下全球銷售一千萬張的佳績．
