被雷了(12)我的前老板

我的前老板和我一樣是數學係畢業的，卻是當了A大學的計算機係的係主任，後來由於常常和某公司合作做項目，被公司聘過去成了公司的一員，幾年後成立研究和發展部門(R&D group)時候，把我招了進去，這裏工作還不錯，研究性質的工作，不賺錢的部門所以也不是那麽緊張。這期間我們也常常和A大學合作，還推薦我做了A大學計算機係的顧問(Advisory Committe Member)的一員。

後來美國的經濟不景氣，他被迫離開公司，不過又回到了A校在另外一個係工作。我們這幾個他手下的就被換到了另外的組。後來公司重組，我又換了一個組，再後來就是九月底，我也被公司雷了。在我找工作期間，他始終都讓我去他那裏做博士後，雖然最後我還是沒有去，人情還是要還的。上周末請他們一家吃飯，他現在的妻子是他做係主任的時候認識的，中間是他們的女兒：

我們現在都不在那個公司了，大家在一起還是談著以前的熟人，有的還能知道在哪，有的已經失去聯係了。。

I did not publish any important paper:). I have been working on computer field for last 15 years. The new job may use some of Statistics.

Are you the one who wrote an important paper on importance sampling? I referenced the paper once or twice and seemed to remeber that the author went to software industry later.

Same for me but I stayed in the same field until today and will remain so for the rest of my life, I think.

It will exit itself so give it some time. Next time you start should not see the small window. Or it failed the first setup run. Send me QQH if it failed.

丁莊秀園, I downloaded your Java Karaoke software. I unzipped the file and double clicked the karalala10.jar file. A small window popped up with the message

setup
This option will download ...... It will exit itself. See .. for more info. I choose Yes button but the program just die down.
I have rebooted my laptop and still no success. Please help. I would love to have this program work.
