I sympathize with Britney Spear

It was casual office topic on pop music and suddenly it turned into Britney Spear. I never truly liked her in the past, when she was hot and popular, at the peek of her career. She was almost perfect, pretty and sweet, only that her eyes, expressions had no depth. But now she is at the bottom pit, I found myself with great sympathy for her.

I can't imagine what it feels like to be a 20-year old girl, who is already over the hill, and without proper education during her teen years, not to mention that she didn't have a normal growing path. Life has never been normal for her since she entered the entertainment business. For an adult, or a kid who truly has goals and passion for music or art or whatever, fame can be adjusted to have less negative impact on a person's soul, but Britney didn't have the luxury.

Fame is drug, it brings excitement and vanity like nothing else. Fame has side effect, once you are famous to a degree, you can never escape the public eye. Britney fell into this trap, we will not let her go. When she has nothing more to offer in her career, we focus on her negativities: marriage, figure, drug, being a mom, night life, etc. I wonder if left alone, will she be able to settle with her rich money to be a good mom, fade into a normal life for a period (or forever), but it is proven the public will push her to the end. No one can truly help her but herself.

I don't know if I can handle that pressure even as an adult and with all the support growing up normally. I just know that early success can put you to a high status, with the cost of losing yourself. It will be more painful to find yourself and stand up again. That is why when people telling me how beautiful my girl is and how likely she will be a star, I never agree. I will never lead her to that direction. As a mom, I can see the traps, sins and stress under the glorious cover. I just want my girl to be normal, to be happy, nothing more.
