——詩學劄記
1.誰人居過何其之城
六月，枝頭掛滿青青蘋果。
適宜與所愛漫遊於陽光之野，十指並扣，任其風箏似在頭頂飛翔，雀躍相隨。或與愛人夜雨秉燭，聽滿世界滿身心的雨水嘶鳴。至清晨雨歇，聽杜鵑聲聲。
或即使孤身一人，一道禮花般傷口，在心上綻放之後，隱隱燒灼作痛，也適宜讀情詩。相信愛情會再次到來，如同相信它必定消逝一樣。
這個早晨，又讀到卡明斯兒童畫般的詩anyone lived in a pretty how town （誰人居過何其之城）。評論者多著眼於其語法和語詞的陌生化，得辭忘意。其實，卡明斯要揭示的是愛情童話般本質。
故事發生在一個名叫pretty how town。這個詞組可以是倒置，意謂何其可愛之城。但how另一層含義是routine常規，也就是何其平庸之城。我們姑且就把它稱為何其之城吧。

這裏“anyone”是故事主角，但它又指稱誰、任何人，無名者。我們且把主角稱之為誰人。在個漂浮著鈴鐺的小城，他是一個大男孩，孤獨、無辜、另類。春夏秋冬，他歌唱他的未曾（也許是失敗），手舞足蹈他的已作。沒有誰待見他、在乎他。但有少數孩子依稀記得，有位叫noone的姑娘愛他。這裏noone有雙重含義，愛他得勝過所有人 （noone loved him more by more），是誰人anyone的最孤獨的形式：無人。
詩中，卡明斯講述了一個愛情在塵世、在時間中的故事。誰人（anyone）與無人（noone）之愛。他們是成人世界的孤島。他們惺惺相惜，孩童般的歡喜雀躍。笑著彼此的喜悅，哭著彼此的悲傷。通過避免那些世俗的合格性而保有天真，不落俗套陳規。他們的愛沒有機心、算計。沒有利益的計較。無目的性。就像美。

anyone’s any was all to her
他們的對彼此生命的分享，如此細致入微，以微顯巨，猶如從每片樹葉而得全樹 (tree by leaf)。他們以在一起的現時每一刻，來領悟時間 (when by now)，由部分而獲得整體。如此的童心，雪樣輕柔的小鳥，悅動的寧靜，彼此的一切就是彼此的世界 （anyone’s any was all to her）。後來，一個春天裏，誰人 （anyone）死了。無人 （noone） 隨即而逝。他們長眠一起。渺小依著渺小，曾經挨著曾經。所有伴著所有，深深連著深深，更多接著更多。他們，如此分享著永恒。

這是怎樣的愛情！為世俗所不容，為成長所不容，為時間所不容，為利益所不容，為獲得所不容。被時間所剝奪，又超越了時間。它被春天埋葬於大地 (noone and anyone earth by april)，又在春天裏重生。希望為精神激活，質疑（如果）被答案（肯定）所鼓勵。有不死的愛情嗎？是的。
這同時也是一個不愛的故事。在這個何其之城 （pretty how town），與何人（anyone）和無人（noone）相對峙的，是某人或功成名就者（someone）和所有人（everyone），雞毛蒜皮（little and small），嘰嘰歪歪。他們絕對是長大成人了。湮沒於社會的合格性中，成為每一個的成員。中規中矩，機心重重。不顧一切地追逐著名利。喪失了真率和本性。

這是一群庸夫俗婦。鎮日裏睡覺、走路，說著他們的從不和永不。昏睡著他們的夢想。年年播種一成不變的種子，收獲一成不變的結果。
someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then)they
said their nevers they slept their dream
他們不知如何愛和被愛。隻需要婚姻（為社會認可）。 似乎愛就是上床(both dong and ding) 或婚姻 （did their dance）。他們彼此的心並未連接，缺乏理解，以至於嘲笑彼此的哭泣（laughed their cryings）。對於他人的命運，無動於衷 （cared for anyone not at all）。甚至死亡都無法震撼他們的心靈，而隻能引起他們的漠視（unconcern）和撇開（detachment）。詩中說道，當何人死去時，“noone stooped to kiss his face”。 這裏，語帶雙關，隻有無人（noone）俯身吻逝者誰人（anyone）的臉，或者說根本沒有人去吻死去的任何人的臉。

就這樣嘰嘰歪歪（dong and ding），春夏秋冬，年複一年。日月星辰，刮風下雨。枯燥無趣苟活著。最終，去他們的所來 （went their came）。消失於塵土，結束他們徒勞的一生。就像從未來過。浪費了溫暖的陽光，閃爍的星辰，豐沛雨滴。
這無疑的生存的悲劇和喜劇。這也是愛情得而複失的故事。按照卡明斯的感受，童心是愛情的基石。懷著無辜之心，好奇、幻想，真誠，無拘，自由。空中有漂浮的鈴鐺。猶如初雪那樣新奇。眼是初見七彩之眼，耳是初聞妙音之耳，心是樸素喜悅之心，身是初感溫暖之身，口是第一次言說愛之口。那語言笨拙而直指愛情本身，那是最初的詩。
然而，就像雪會融化，童心也會喪失：
stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so floating many bells down)
一旦如此，愛情也就丟失（no one loved anymore）。隨著四季風車似地輪回 （passage of time），一切在褪色。一方麵，忘記了赤子之心，接受成人世界的一切。隻能用被教會的方式去行動，機械、木然、被動、定義。即使說愛，也充滿了陳詞濫調，愛得充滿心計。另一方麵，失去了新奇之心，五官麻木。視而不見，聽而不聞；或者隻能聽聞看成見教會的東西。不再記得空中有漂浮的鈴鐺。愛情老去，無疾或有疾而終。而愛情必須是日日新、新又新，需要創造，需要新奇。有童心，人生若隻如初見。猶如詩人，每天須用嶄新的方式，對這個世界說你好。須懷初戀之心。
卡明斯用簡單的複雜語言，講述愛情，愛和不愛兩個主題並行。或兩個主題的交織。暗示愛情可能又不可能。人世間的何其之城，愛情每天死亡又每天產生。這首詩開始於小寫的字母，結尾並沒有句號。表示著這循環結束於它的開始，開始於它的結束。不斷往複。
愛恨亦大矣， 猶如生死。詩人你如何說？你和我，還有誰，居住過這個何其之城？別灰心，愛情，曾經有過，或者將會有。可以赤子之心聆聽空中浮懸之鈴。
