老師讓一年級的小學生把下麵這些半截兒諺語給補完整。 看看這些小學生的答案， 是不是感覺美國的小孩子很厲害？
1. 小孩：Don't change horses...........................until they stop running.
原句：Don't change horses while crossing a stream. 過河的途中別換馬。
幹活的過程中不要無故更換你的工具或方法或人力。

是說當人集結成群時會做出很出格或者不道德的事。這類事情當人們在一個人的時候是不會做的， 可是到了人群裏，便很容易受人影響， 而忘了自己的道德準則。 例子像是文革中的人們的瘋狂。 球迷輸球後的打砸搶。

你可以把馬領到水邊， 可它要不喝水你也沒辦法。
這類似中文的‘師傅引進門， 成敗在個人‘。 你可以給一個人機會， 但這個人是否會利用這個機會， 不是你控製得了的事。
在查原句時我看到這幅圖， 挺好玩。
6. Don't bite the hand that..................................looks dirty.
原句：Don't bite the hand that feeds you。 別咬給你飯吃的手。
這句話可以常見的場合：比如說不要跟老板和顧客過不去， 因為人家是給你飯碗的人。
7. No news is........................................................impossible.
原句：No news is good news 沒消息就是好消息。
道理不言而喻了。
8. 小孩：A miss is as good as a ......................................Mr.
原句：A miss is as good as a mile 差一點點跟差一裏沒有什麽區別。
這是說沒成功就是沒成功， 差一點點和差好多沒有區別（就像是高考落榜）
9. You can't teach an old dog new ..........................math.
原句：You can't teach an old dog new trick. 你無法教老狗新花樣。
這是真的。 狗老了以後很難再學會新的口令或動作了
說的是人定性了以後就很難改變了。
10. If you lie down with dogs, you'll.........................stink in the morning.
原句：If you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas.
如果你跟都睡在一起， 那你起來時會帶上跳蚤。
這就像：常在河邊走， 沒有不濕鞋的。
