DIY Goofy Story

Jiffy Lube is way more convenient  for oil change, 10 min +$30. Here I will not go into detail about how Jiffy Lube once failed to properly screw in the oil pan plug and how I slowly leaked oil for a week until the warning light was on. After that incident, I found out that for  30 minutes of time, I could get this done correctly on my driveway. I really enjoy changing the oil and do so religiously every 3,000 miles. Last time I changed it, however, things didn't go as planned. I proceeded normally by removing the drain plug, draining the old oil into the drain pan and then removing the filter. As I spun on the new filter, the cell phone rang; it was an old friend and we must have talked for an hour. After the conversation, I started filling the engine with fresh oil. As I bent down to pick up my tools, I noticed a large dark pool moving toward my feet. And yes, there was the oil plug lying in the middle of the pool of oil. It took me a long time to clean up the mess.
