來美後的第二個專利

自從離開了大學裏的老板後，和他的聯係一直沒有中斷。差不多每個周末都去看看他，順便和他討論一些研究方向和未來的走向問題，同時，也幫他解決一些學生麵臨的實驗技術問題。

今天中文學校開學，送兒子去上學後，就又遛達到實驗室看看。和老板討論了前三個禮拜的進展，和目前學生正在作的試驗，老爸順手把剛剛送出去的provisional patent application打印出來，交給我：“Sorry, it took much longer than what I thought. You know, we had some new data and waited for the final result. The good news is that, based on your work, we accidently found a new compound which inhibits specifically and strongly on androgen receptor. So the patent covers a class of compounds with similar structure  and four nuclear receptors now ....”

第一個專利花了我四年時間，中間有公司感興趣，也因專利遲遲下不來而失去了耐心，估計現在也成了垃圾。這個專利，還有一年時間來補充，加上專利本身也簡單直接，就看能不能中彩了。
