昨晚陪兒子女兒上完鋼琴課，回家的路上是電閃雷鳴。女兒說，老爸，你該高興了，不用掏錢給草地澆水了。兒子卻抬起頭，一本正經地說：“Let'scount after we see the lightning until we hear the thunder. The distance from the place of the thunder to us is the number we count multiply by 1000 feet.”
老爸可沒有教過這個：“Where did you get this?”
“I read a book a while ago and learned from it. It said that every second the sound goes about 1000 feet.”
學過物理的女兒倒是糊塗了：“Really? I thought the speed of sound is much faster.”
老爸就和女兒開玩笑：“Sounds like you forget everything you learned from your physics class. You brother is correct--about 1000 feet per second.”
兒子馬上不放過這種表現自我的機會：“See, I am smart, right, daddy?”
“Of course, you are smart. As long as you work hard, you can do anything in the future.” 老爸嘴裏這麽說，心裏卻想著兒子按現在這個速度讀下去，八成是個nerd呢。

對喲。現在是nerd的時代，從Bill Gates 到那些大小公司的老板都是nerd呢。不過，不光是nerd,其他人也該尊重。
