Evan started talking pretty late and he has a quiet personality which means he does not talk a lot but when he does, he generally uses simple words and short sentences.
That's why I was surprised by what he said a couple of days ago when he asked me to change his poo-poo diaper (his potty training has been our headache for a long time). I was in the middle of something so I said: "I am busy right now, can you go ask Daddy to change you?"
In slow but crystal clear voice, he said: "No, this is your r-e-s-p-o-n-s-i-b-i-l-i-t-y."
Wow, that was the longest and most complicated word I have ever heard him saying and it was used to against me! :) The fact that he thought that changing him was my responsibility also cracked me up.
"Well, if that's the case, you’re a big boy now, going to potty by yourself is your r-e-s-p-o-n-s-i-b-i-l-i-t-y! You got it?"
"No!" he did it on purpose.
Alas! When are you going to grow up my boy? Well, just enjoy being potty pampered a couple of weeks longer as your teacher and I have decided to go cold turkey on you when it's getting warmer…:)
