What's his story : Binchois was one of the great melodists of the early Renaissance. He broke free of prevailing orthodoxy to create a new kind of spontaneous expression, often following his heart rather than stifling rules. In contrast to the increasing complexity of ‘Ars nova’(14th-century polyphonic) writing, Binchis advocated a return to naturalness and simplicity.

吉爾·班舒瓦（法語：Gilles Binchois，約1400年－1460年9月20日），又稱吉爾·德·班斯（Gilles de Bins），法國-弗萊芒作曲家、管風琴家。與同時期的紀堯姆·迪費一樣，他是弗萊芒樂派的第一代（勃艮第樂派）代表之一。他於1419年至1423年在蒙斯擔任管風琴師，曾當過兵,後來成為一名教士。他的宗教和世俗音樂作品旋律優美，其歌頌騎士精神和愛情的世俗歌曲尤受當時的王公貴族喜愛。班舒瓦現在被認為在音樂史上占有重要的地位。
