The Love Boat is an American television series set on a cruise ship, which aired on the ABC Television Network from September 24, 1977, until February 27, 1987. The show revolves around the ship's captain (Gavin MacLeod) and a handful of its crew, with several passengers – played by different guest actors for each episode – having romantic and humorous adventures.

Captain Stubing's ex-wife (Bonnie Franklin) is a passenger with her new husband (Robert Symonds), a cruise line executive. She makes the crew pay for her animosity with the Captain (Gavin MacLeod).

A former centerfold model (Meredith Baxter) struggles to hide her past from her fiancé who is a Congressman.
 
A woman is followed by her hard-to-commit boyfriend through all the ports where the cruise passes. However she's not going to accept a relationship without a proposal of marriage.
