I recall some times back, in the photography forum, some one shot a lot of film and scanned into computer, and I requested an original file from him, and the resolution was comparable to a 6 MP APS-C camera.
Using a high-resolution black/white film (I believe that 160 line/mm film is black/white) for comparison is unfair. Even if it is a color film, it is not the film most photographers will use. And do not complain that the camera is more expesive: the lenses are more expensive and both digital and film cameras use the same lens.
In practice, film has much lower resolution
