請教，有這個成語:walk on someone's tiptoe 嗎？

正在看一部關於罪案的記錄片，然後一個知情人評論男主人公，說他個性很強。然後，說you have to walk on your tiptoe(這個字為音譯，聽不清楚） to avoid offence him. 　我想意思大概就是很小心，避免發出聲音。

但是，不知道這個tiptoe的正確拚法是什麽。在詞典上好象也找不到這個成語。
