The major difference are that 1) porcelain is much harder and it has consistency through out. Porcelain is not that easy to break. Ceremic, instead, has hard surface but inside is the clay. 2) So when a hard object drops on ceremic, the clay will show and it is difficult to repair unless you repair the entire piece.
Porcelain has no such problem, it is chipped, you wont see color difference.
Due to the expense of labor, I would pick the right color instead deep brown. Also, the essence of laying tile floor, is less of color, more of pattern. A not so pretty tile can be finished pretty if you have correct pattern and some time, in between, small piece of other colored tiles.
