Pt 2. DIY of pressure test gas line..
so last night, gas company shut off gas to one of our building, 4 units without heat over night, we are required to pressure test the inside lines, while gas company testing the outside lines.
there is a first time for everything, we end up blown a gas meter in pieces, while the gas company was there, lol
cost:
1. pressure regulator, $97.
2. 2000lp nitrogen pressure tank, which is a over kill, it blow up a meter in pieces. $.6/day + $10 per fill.
3. custom make hose, $13.
4. 18 inch black pipe, $4.85.
5. labor 7 hours.
-- went to 4 different places get all the parts together.
-- hooking up to 1st unit, we turn the the pressure way to high, at 200lb, well..... we got to see what is inside a gas meter..so we end up disconnect the meters, cap the line, but its too late, we going to get bill for a gas meter..lol
--luckily, we found the leak at unit #2.
