fence warranty

I repaired some fence today. The fencer says it is guaranteed for 5 years for workmanship. There is a line on his quote saying it has 5 year warranty. I haven't got the receipt yet, and I suspect he may not have a separate warranty paper. I got his license number, phone, addr on the quote, what else do I need to ask from him? Do I need to ask for his Tax ID? My neighbor want it but I don't know if he is willing to give it.
