In CA, it is now takes about 3 months to evict tenant by default judgement. You first post 3-day notice, then let a lawyer handle it for you (less than $900). It normally takes more than 1 month to just serve the notice to tenant (CA has the stupid law that requires serve the notice in person. If failed at least 4 times, then the court can mail the service notice for court date.
