The tenant requested to move on Oct.8 and starting paying rent on Oct. 15. I got his half month rent for Oct. and a full month rent as deposit (total 1.5month rent)
It was a bit strange for me that he did not move on Oct. 8. And today, he told me that he would not move in on Oct. 15 and requested his full deposit back. I have to restart from scratch to find another tenant.
The question is: can I hold a part of deposit as a compensation? On what ground?
