Google 上的許多鏈接說得很清楚了。做 separate filing 的原因不是夫妻分居兩地，而是根據不同的情況，以省稅為目的。這是合法、合理的。

如果說住一起 file separately 就會增加“被查風險”，那任何一個 deductible 都可以說增加風險了。不是嗎？
