30-day advance notice is typical unless lease says otherwise.

Send them a month-by-month addendum with rent increased by $100.

Rental showing should be within 30-days of the lease termination. If they extend to mid Oct., you should not start rental showing until mid Sept.

You seem to worry a bit too early ...
