short sale can take 6 month or more, the market may change a lot during this 6 month. as seller, they hold your deposit, but as buyer you hold nothing from seller. what if the seller decide to sell it to somebody else after 6 month? =》It's against the law to sell the house to another party without first releasing your EMD. As long as your EMD is deposited with an escrow company, you should be fine.

但是，凡事總有例外，想要100%的安全，最好的辦法當然是不給EMD。
