專家解答2州或多州報稅:各州均為PART-YEAR RESIDNET就可以避免多重收稅。
Dear TaxACT® Customer,
If you lived in Utah for part of 2011 and you lived in Iowa for part of 2011, then you need to file a Part-year resident return for each state. Currently you have prepared a resident IA return and a nonresident UT return, which appears to be incorrect based on the information you have provided here and in your tax returns.
When you file a part-year return with either state, you will indicate the portion of your income that applies to each state on that state's tax return. Thus, if you enter your data accurately you should not end up paying tax to two states on the same income. Both state returns have instructions available as you go through the Q&A. To access the instructions at any time click the State Form Instructions link on the right side of your screen.
If you properly file a part-year resident return for each state you should not claim a credit on either return for taxes paid to the other state. this is because you already will have divided your income between the two states by using the part-year resident status on each return.
Thank you for using TaxACT. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
