my son is buying a house. his inspector recommends the whole roof be replaced.
what are his options: 1. ask the seller to replace the roof? 2. ask the seller to split the cost of replacing the roof?
if the seller says No to both, my son can walk away, right?
how about the inspection fees and maybe appraisal fees?
the roof is not that bad. there maybe some leaks around the chimney, and the bathroom vents do not vent air out; they vent it to the attic.
other things are fine, and he likes this house.
what should he do? any advices and ideas are appreciated. thanks in advance.
