I would suggest all landlords do some home work on real estate performance under hyperinflation scenario.

Do not tell ourselves it wont happen, (I think that is natural reaction of investors).

Think what to do if that happens. After all, investing is like a chess game. You lay down the moves to make sure if that happen that you have a strategy to combat it.

And yes you are right, 401k is a sink hole under hyperinflation. And 401k does not guarantee that the return will be more superior than alternative investment now. And it does not guarantee the return if government raises income taxes in the future.
