same here, as a matter of fact, I never bother to call previous landlord at all. Stable job, income, credit profile and the intangible, you talk to the guy face to face, eye to eye, you will get a "feel" if they are good tenant.If you don't have the "feel", I am sorry, you choose the wrong business, I always tell people, landlord is not for everybody.
