樹根長入了下水道，如何砍樹除根?

出租房的主下水道一年內堵了兩次，這次我請了專業疏通下水道的工人做了camara檢查，發現距離我房子6feet處的戶外下水道中有一些小細樹根，這些小細樹根掛住了toilet paper,這次就簡單得把下水道疏通了，我知道這不是長久之計。該公司估價3000美金換掉室外的一小段長如樹根的下水道。

請問我能否就簡單地鋸掉戶外下水道上方的一個一人高的小花樹樹叢，製止樹根繼續往下生長！
