Even you standardize the paint, you may also need to standardize the paint base.

For example, you get a print out for the paint from home depot. The paint will be different next year or two even you use the same color mix. That is because most paint store changed the base from time to time to get best prcing. So like you said, get the base type from Sherwin Williams and keep asking for the same base.
