The key word in this article:

"millions more are coming"

So who would dare to buy as the the first batch if millions more are in the pipeline?

One thing for sure, someone close to this administration will pick the best batch and small investors and real estate market in large will lose.

Another key question is:

Why now?

Possible answer would be: 1) Government can not afford to hold them any more because those properties are rotting quick. Another 2 years will render those properties completely useless.

2) The cost of keep them on the book is so great that it may be better off to unload them at any cost.

Buying an apartment complex is one thing, buying scattered individual properties are different. How much to fix up? can each of them be rented? How a company be possibly to manage properties in different locations? and what shall be the tax advantages to buy them?

It proves again and again, policity makers are stupid.

Told you all the market is not bottomed yet.
